Nathan Siebenga, B. A., M.Ed., eMBA
Those who know Nathan would describe him as ‘Edupreneurial’; a visionary leader who executes and delivers. He wears his heart on his sleeve and loves to invest in people and is passionate about developing people to become the best versions of themselves. Nathan was born and raised in Bowmanville Ontario, as the fourth child in an education family. He grew up watching good schools become great. As it was through his life experiences and education that he made ‘education’ his business.
He has served in many school capacities: teacher, coach, Vice Principal, Principal, Consultant and Senior Executive. Nathan desires lives of flourishing for everyone who is interested in the Common Good. As the CEO he is committed to assisting in this human flourishing with all those who come in contact with him and Keystone Learning Leadership.
Karen Sutherland, B. A. Hons, B. Ed., C.TESL
Education & Training Consultant
Karen Sutherland brings to the KLL team, 25 years’ experience in education, teacher training, and educational resource development. Karen has end-to-end experience in the EFL field. Starting as an overseas EFL teacher in Japan, she moved on to Education Planning where she designed and oversaw the development of teacher resources for a large private language school, and was involved in hiring, and teacher evaluation.
Back in Canada, Karen went on to found (OnCOURSE Education) a not for profit private school and learning centre devoted to providing quality educational services to learners of all ages. Karen’s role at KLL includes teacher training, consulting on educational and curricular matters, and facilitating the smooth transition of teacher recruits, from training to take-off.
Alice Murakami, B. A.
Alice’s passion is to deliver a cultural and life learning experience for Canadian young educators in China.
For over 25 years Alice has been recruiting International students from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and China. Providing homestay arrangement, visa services, and custodianship for International students who used to attend schools in the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, Grand Erie District School Board, and currently only provide services to the Hamilton District Christian High School.
From 1998-2000 organized summer camps for Chinese students in Norfolk and Haldimand areas. From 2001-2003 designed and organized with Chinese Education Authorities (Guangzhou, Shenzhen Louhu Education Bureaus) groups of senior English teachers to achieve 3 months of upgrade programs of English and teaching skills with the Grand Erie District School Board. From 1999-2011 acted as liaison to Chinese Education Authorities such as the Hainan Ministry of Education, Guangzhou Education Bureau, Shenzhen Louhu Education Bureau, Bayannoer and Wuhai (Inner Mongolia) Education Bureaus to organize and deliver English proficiency upgrade programs to Chinese local English teachers through the support of our Canadian educators, Fanshaw College and Brock University.
